We had the honour of being the second set of volunteers here at the wombat refuge. It was great fun, and we were able to help fix enclosures, feed and care for the current resident wombats, collect grass for the wombabies, cuddle the little joeys, and of course take lots of pictures!
We also learned some new skills as we helped to build an new enclosed room for young wombats. Lots of hammering and measuring and head scratching!
Bill and Les were great fun to hang out with, and because they are both former teachers, are extremely patient when teaching us all these new skills. You just need a good attitude and willingness to learn!
